The Founder & Director – The Eye behind IIP

Rajesh Goyal, a man of many talents and a vision unmatched. More than anything else, he is a man of photography. With humble beginnings, Mr Goyal started as a keen photographer. Talent and hard work earned him the title of a scholar and the number 1 position in the Punjab University 1991 batch. In his two decades of experience as a photographer, he worked with clients from all around the world like USA, UK, Italy and Germany among others.

A College of Art alumnus, Shailesh Goyal is associated with the world of Photography and Advertising for over two decades. With rich experience in photography and detailed knowledge of designing softwares, he is the guiding force for students at Indian Institute of Photography.

Jamari Lior
Faculty of Photography

Having a vision in the combination of theory and practice of the photography Jamari Lior has studied in Germany, the Netherlands and India. An awarded student and lecturer at Universities and academics Jamari has exhibited her pictures in various countries, has published several books and DVDs about photography and works as an editor of a German photography magazine.

Jamari is an integral part of the Indian Institute of Photography and exchanging a fruitful relation between faculty and students, sharing her educational and practical experiences to the students of IIP.

Be it pictures of models or ethnographic photography - her visual work is always grounded on an anthropological base. She debunks trends in contemporary photography as deeply rooted in classical topoi by showing their historical and cultural origins. 

Shahjahan Khan
Faculty of Photography

Shahjahan started his journey in 2007 from Jamia Millia Islamia where he studied Fine arts. Photography quickly became his favourite subject. He had the opportunity to witness the finest side of photography. Camera rolls, negatives and positives and the dark room where the magic happened. For this he considers himself lucky. The beauty about this era was that then, every click counted. Films came in rolls of 12, 14 and 36 and every shot had to be perfect. Shahjahan made his transition into the digital era keeping this principle in mind. So even with a digital camera, to him every click mattered. He is influenced by the likes of Raghu Rai, Steve Mccury and Tim Walker.

 After graduating from Jamia, he finished his diploma in Photography from Triveni Kala Sangam. He then went ahead and assisted ace photographer Charudutt Chitrak. Under his guidance he learnt about the little nuances and technique required in outdoor and indoor commercial photography. Since the past 4 years he has worked on a varied range of projects for advertising giants like Lowe Lintas and Contract, magazines, real estate agencies and individual clients. He has worked for brands like Google ( Documentary for 360 degree virtual tour), Woodland (Foot Wears), Hero (Bikes), Maruti Omni, Unicef, Hindustan Times and Alewa images. He has also made his mark in the world of food photography. He now has the privilege of working with the Indian Institute of Photography (IIP) as a member of their faculty.

If there’s one thing that’s of utmost importance to him in photography, besides the technique, it is the art of framing your photographs. And, to master the art Shahjahan says, you need to get out on the streets with your camera, free and curious and simply trust your instinct. That is exactly what he did.

Renowned Fashion Photographer worked with almost all celebrated male & female models of the country.

Mr. SPS Kalra is one of the renowned photographers in India. He has been well-known for his exemplary work in the world of fashion photography for the past 2 decades. Having worked with almost all celebrated male & female models of the country, Mr. Kalra has been mobilizing valuable support for aspiring photographers by providing them with a unique platform for exploring their potential.

His journey as a photographer began 2 decades ago as a hobby but later it developed into an ardent passion. Creative lighting has been one of the prime areas he has been exploring and working on in fashion photography. He takes great delight in sharing his vast experience and expertise with new-age photographers' community.

Harish Jaiswal
Professional Photographer

Harish Jaiswal is a professional photographer with an experience of over twelve years, shooting Jewellery, watches and models. He produces world class images for brochures, catalogs, advertising & web for leading retailers & manufactures.

Harish is associated with IIP with a vision to solely handle its Mumbai region for its various courses and operations. Harish engages with its students in such a way that the learning in photography becomes easy and full of fun and enthusiasm. His expertise on shooting is apart from the contemporaries and decades old experience gives students a lot easiness in understanding the science of camera.

Anoop Ray
Faculty of Photography

Anoop Ray was born in Kishangarh-bas; a quaint town, not known to many, nestled between the Aravallis, Rajasthan in 1988. Ray works predominantly in the medium of painting, but includes photography in his large-scale installations. Ray has done his BFA in Painting from the Amity School of Fine Art in Noida in 2013. Ray also did his Diploma in Photography at Academy for Photographic Excellence in New Delhi in 2009.

He was a part of “Kolga Tbilisi Photo 2016”. held in Artarea Gallery, Tbilisi, Georgia. During his graduation Amity University honored him with the Best Student Photographer Award in 2010. In his maiden exhibition, held earlier this year he ruminated on these very aspects through a series of black and white portraits of people who reverberate through his being.

He now has the privilege of working with the Indian Institute of Photography (IIP) as a member of their faculty.

Rohit Kasonfrom Noida i did my computer engineering from Government College, Khoonimajra and that time i used to do photography as my hobby.After that i take my photography to the next level and left the job to do BFA ( Bachelors of Fine Arts ) 2012 from Symbiosis School of Photography,Pune.After completing my degree I join well known company called Camera Crew ,Mumbai. In last 4 years, my work exhibited in Mumbai and Pune. My inspiration are Steve Mecury and many more. If there is things that almost importance to me in photography beside technique , it is the art of framing the photography. Dhiraj Anand Khatri from Bhopal, M.P. is a graduate in Electronics and Communication Engineering and Post Graduate in Marketing and Strategy from MDI Gurgaon. His passion for photography found its roots in the wildlife genre, and which since then has witnessed the power of Dhiraj's relentless drive and love for photography. A self taught professional who has been associated with one of the world's largest telecom companies, Dhiraj shares technical articles on photography for the Indian Institute of Photography and is always at hand to offer expert consultancy for camera model, photography and other tips . He possesses an invaluable skill set that goes beyond classroom teaching and is an inspirational role model for many. Dhiraj is also authoring books on photography and a travelogue cum photography book based on his travels to Kailash Mansarovar.

Filmmaker and Academician

A master at multitasking, with an inborn ability to handle with ease multiple streams and jobs simultaneously, Sameer has worked on numerous television shows, films and documentaries including 126 episodes on information technology for Doordarshan Srinagar. His resume includes organizations such as MTV IGGY USA, DISCOVERY, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHY CHANNEL, BARACROFT MEDIA, MIDWIVES PRODUCTION and CIRCUS MOTION PICTURES amongst others. Always eager to share his hard earned wisdom with fellow enthusiasts, Sameer fulfills his responsibility as a guest speaker on photography, photojournalism, mass communication and visual communication at institutions such as Arena Animation, Reliance BIG Animation and the Indian Institute Of Photography. Sameer is also a passionate artist and layout designer with a love for transforming the canvas with oil and acrylic colors.

Mr. Gopal Sharma is a veteran and honored photographer, an alumnus of the prestigious J.J. College of Arts, Mumbai, he has been exploring almost all the genres of photography for decades, particularly, the Himalayan Photography.

Rewarded with so many awards and accolades for his outstanding photographic works, he has been traveling extensively all over the Himalayan mountain range in his unstoppable mission of photography. He is the first photographer from India who travelled by his motorcycle to Khardung La for photography exploration, the world's highest motorable road that serves as gateway to Shyok and Nubra valleys in Ladakh at an altitude of18,379 ft.

He has come a long way while capturing the natural and wildlife beauty around him. His relentless pursuit of photography is exemplary and his passion for photography is simply never-ending. His vast collection of rare photographs is a scintillating experience to view at. Now, in association with IIP, Gopal Sharma is all set to share and offer his proven photography skills and vast experience with the photography enthusiasts across the nation.

C.P. Rashmi “My passion for visual communication gives meaning to my existence”. A media graduate currently a PhD. Scholar at Behrampur University; Orissa has dedicated a decade of her life training media graduates. Her area of expertise includes, Photography, Research, stop motion animation and print media design. Her research includes papers published in national and international journals

C.P. Rashmi has served for ministry of higher education, Sultanate of Oman. In India she has been associated with premium Institutes like Amity University, GGSIP University, Galgotias University, GJU Hissar. Her industry association includes organizations like The Statesman, Hindi Daily AAJ, Jain television and IGNOU EMPC production Department.

Shiv Kiran

Shiv Kiran is a young Delhi based documentary photographer. After doing masters in Computers he decided to follow his passion photography. “Photography is not just a medium of communication. It is a medium through which we can create a world, a world that we all know can never exist”.

Shiv worked with Rahul Lal and Rohit Lal as an intern and then did post graduate diploma in Photography, from Sri Aurobindo Center for Arts and Communication, Delhi. He is now a part of Fseven Photographers, a collective of professional photographers. He is a dreamer and likes to project his dreams through his photography. He is fascinated by surrealism, and enjoys making pictures that does not necessarily have a meaning, but more a feeling.

His works has been published in various National and international magazines like BBC Asia,, Invisible photography Asia, etc. He is also a part of yearlong photography project (Project 365) of Ekalokam Trust of Photography. He has also exhibited in International Photo Festival Ahmadabad and his work was projected in Angkor Photo Festival (Cambodia) as a part of Project 365.

Shakti did his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from College of Art, Chandigarh. He was interested in fine art was right from his school days. As a Painter Shakti does realistic work majorly, made portraits and figurative work. He did over Thousand Portraits which are displayed in several museums in India. Personalities and Celebrities whom he has done portraits are Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam (Ex President of India), Hon’ble President of India Sh. Pranab Mukherjee and H.E. Sh. Navin Chandra Ramgoolam (The Prime Minister of Mauritius).

Ankur Baruah

Creative Advertising and Communicational professional with over 10 years of experience. Associated with advertising agencies such as Publicis, Rediffusion DY&R, Dentsu, Law & Kenneth and Mccann Worldwide. A decade of being associated with the creative brand building and strategies of reputed clients like Nestle, Hewlett Packard, Canon, Max New York Life Insurance, Airtel, Coca Cola, GSK and many more. An avid movie buff with deep interest in music and art appreciation.

Jatin Jain

Jatin Jain, being an electronics & telecommunication engineer by books and a photographer by passion, believes in the famous quote by Destin sparks "photography is a story that I fail to put into words". Hailing from Raipur with his home town being korba, at the age of 29 he has already established himself as a commercial photographer with almost 7 years of work experience in this field. After working with Dell International services as a senior representative for two years he decided to pursue photography as his profession. His studio brand "Studio Iodine Vapor" has received an amazing client response from a wide range of sectors, cultures and backgrounds covering local as well as national projects. His passion of photography is backed up by his degree of Diploma in fine arts from Indian Institute of Photography, Noida where he was recognised for his commendable performance by securing highest marks in his batch.


Vishwas Sunita Shrivastava
*Adventurer *Vernacular *Traveler

Vishwas started his journey into the world of art in 2014.
He is a traveler and explorer and shoots places in the most extreme manner capturing every possible corner and showcasing it in his stories in the most beautiful manner.

Vishwas had pursued his DFA from IIP from where his journey connected to the institute. His concepts to shoot and ideas behind made him rise along with his dedication towards photography. Vishwas has always been up with ideas in any sort of project as his imagination sense is always on it’s peak and ready to deliver.

He is associated with IIP to handle it’s MP region for various courses and operations. He makes learning full of fun and excitement which makes his students comfortable enough to speak and interact.

Tim was born in Southwest Germany and has traveled extensively throughout Europe and the United States. He has been interested in, and practicing, photography for over 20 years. Tim has been living in Iceland for the last 6 years and specializes in all aspects of photography in Iceland, including landscapes, architecture, portraits, nature (particularly birds), and travel. Tim enjoys getting to know others, discovering the many hidden gems in Iceland and spending time with his wife and children. He has organized and held countless Photo workshops and Photo tours in Iceland & Greenland.
Paolo lives in Italy and specializes in Italian architecture and portraits. His passion for photography can be infectious for any aspiring photographer. He has been a photographer for more than a decade, and his pictures of the Venetian buildings and concept portraits are the works of an extremely creative mind.
Ashok gave up a successful career in banking to pursue his love for the camera a decade and a half ago. His experiments with photography led to a self taught approach to the art, which gives him a great insight into the problems an aspiring photographer might face. His work has been featured in established publications like the Times of India, The Sunday Observer, Discover India and many more.
