Rajesh Goyal

Rajesh Goyal, a man of many talents and a vision unmatched. More than anything else, he is a man of photography. With humble beginnings, Mr Goyal started as a keen photographer. Talent and hard work earned him the title of a scholar and the number 1 position in the Punjab University 1991 batch. In his two decades of experience as a photographer, he worked with clients from all around the world like USA, UK, Italy and Germany among others.

“Life feels enriched with myriad experiences but photography has rewarded me with a new perspective to look at life and the world. It is my mission to impart this knowledge to the upcoming camera artists; they need to look at life with a newer perspective too”-Mr. Rajesh Goyal.

With this pledge, it was time to give back to the art that fetched him worldwide accolades. Rajesh Goyal wasn't content with being an artist among photographers. Instead, he made it his mission in life to pass on this legacy to the coming generation; to make photography the art of the masses. People need to capture precious moments so that it does not slip away from them.

Photography is about love and appreciation; it makes families come together and celebrate life. It is about embracing the beauty of nature. It simply immortalises life! And this is where the dream of imparting world-class photography education on both regular and online modes started taking shape.

In the absence of avenues to learn photography in a mainstream way, Mr Goyal began with his regular and unique online courses under the wing of IIP. With an immensely talented team, he set on the path to make photography accessible to the common man. People from varied walks of life, of different strata irrespective of gender and age could now easily opt to learn photography from the best.Although, Mr. Rajesh Goyal in his formative years may not have had the newest cameras but this has particularly inspired him further to teach all those who have DSLRs today but are quite ignorant about the way to use it. He strives to extend specific education about the various technicalities of the cameras so that amateur photographers can progress.

With the exceptional blend of creative and entrepreneurial skills of Mr Rajesh, IIP has broken barriers. As a no 1 teaching portal for photography, it has successfully completed 63 batches and is still counting. Spanning its network around Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon, it has not limited itself but has reached over 31 countries internationally through its online courses.

Shahjahan Khan

Shahjahan started his journey in 2007 from Jamia Millia Islamia where he studied Fine arts. Photography quickly became his favourite subject. He had the opportunity to witness the finest side of photography. Camera rolls, negatives and positives and the dark room where the magic happened. For this he considers himself lucky. The beauty about this era was that then, every click counted. Films came in rolls of 12, 14 and 36 and every shot had to be perfect. Shahjahan made his transition into the digital era keeping this principle in mind. So even with a digital camera, to him every click mattered. He is influenced by the likes of Raghu Rai, Steve Mccury and Tim Walker. After graduating from Jamia, he finished his diploma in Photography from Triveni Kala Sangam. He then went ahead and assisted ace photographer Charudutt Chitrak. Under his guidance he learnt about the little nuances and technique required in outdoor and indoor commercial photography. Since the past 4 years he has worked on a varied range of projects for advertising giants like Lowe Lintas and Contract, magazines, real estate agencies and individual clients. He has worked for brands like Google ( Documentary for 360 degree virtual tour), Woodland (Foot Wears), Hero (Bikes), Maruti Omni, Unicef, Hindustan Times and Alewa images. He has also made his mark in the world of food photography. He now has the privilege of working with the Indian Institute of Photography (IIP) as a member of their faculty.

If there’s one thing that’s of utmost importance to him in photography, besides the technique, it is the art of framing your photographs. And, to master the art Shahjahan says, you need to get out on the streets with your camera, free and curious and simply trust your instinct. That is exactly what he did.
