Meet IIPian Manzilat Raza | DDPC 2016-17 | Hails from Banaras, Uttar Pradesh
*Learner *Indigenous *Creative
An artist since childhood Manzilat has always felt that art needs no competition. It came naturally to her, like her heritage of narrow lanes and stories of shadowy days, clicks of rainbow rays and life in Banaras, the radiating haze. Her story is called "Narrow Kingdom", from where she belongs. She was always into fine arts, since school. From soft boards her paintings came to life and they were captured through her lens of life. The little Manzilat Raza was considered Miss Creative in her childhood, she took it upon her and finally became one. She pursued BBA till her graduation but she couldn’t refuse her inner call and joined the Dual-diploma of IIP Academy to chase her dream of becoming a professional photographer.
With a pleasant personality Manzilat discovered that there is a fascinating storyteller inside her. She had stories, many stories to tell, of the streets and the narrow lanes of Banaras, the deep and hazy life, and the colours, Colours of Puducherry. She started documenting them. She prefers using lots of vibrant colours. She says that comes from her Banarasi roots. She is a 100% perfectionist and she is always doing the best justice to her every work. She is a feminist and she prefers documenting stories related to women issues. She is also a travel freak and always ready for adventure. She has recently traveled to Puducherry and has captured the light shaded natural frames of the seaside city. She has traveled across the city on a scooty.
Participation: Selection of her theme picture 'Narrow Kingdom' in Ras se bana Banaras, held at India Habitat Center, New Delhi.
IIPian Manzilat Raza is now working on documenting few more subjects that are related to girls and women issues, and is ready for her solo and group exhibitions. IIP Academy stands by in all her future endeavours.
